Jedn\u00e1 se o reakci organismu na nep\u0159\u00edjemn\u00e9 situace. Na\u0161e t\u011blo se v tuto chv\u00edli p\u0159iprav\u00ed na krizovou situaci, kter\u00e1 dopadne bu\u010f, jak se \u0159\u00edk\u00e1 bojem nebo \u00fat\u011bkem. Probl\u00e9m nast\u00e1v\u00e1 v p\u0159\u00edpad\u011b, \u017ee je hladina stresu v t\u011ble zv\u00fd\u0161en\u00e1 dlouhodob\u011b. V t\u00e9to f\u00e1zi se do krve za\u010d\u00edn\u00e1 uvol\u0148ovat zr\u00e1dn\u00fd a z\u00e1ke\u0159n\u00fd hormon kortizol, kter\u00fd zp\u016fsobuje hned n\u011bkolik reakc\u00ed.&#13; Tou prvn\u00ed je, \u017ee va\u0161e t\u011blo pot\u0159ebuje mnohem v\u011bt\u0161\u00ed p\u0159\u00edsun energie, aby se mohlo p\u0159ipravit na situaci, kdy byl pot\u0159ebn\u00fd jej\u00ed zv\u00fd\u0161en\u00fd v\u00fddej. Nen\u00ed tedy nic zvl\u00e1\u0161tn\u00edho na tom, \u017ee dost\u00e1v\u00e1me p\u0159irozen\u011b chu\u0165 na potraviny, kter\u00e9 n\u00e1m dodaj\u00ed pot\u0159ebnou energii co nejrychleji a v co nejv\u011bt\u0161\u00edm mno\u017estv\u00ed. Ur\u010dit\u011b v\u00e1m tedy do\u0161lo, \u017ee se jedn\u00e1 pr\u00e1v\u011b o j\u00eddla s vysok\u00fdm obsahem cukru a tuku. Proto\u017ee ale k \u017e\u00e1dn\u00e9mu v\u00fddeji nedojde, tyto potraviny n\u00e1m za\u010d\u00ednaj\u00ed zpomalovat metabolismus a my za\u010d\u00edn\u00e1me p\u0159ib\u00fdvat na v\u00e1ze hlavn\u011b v oblasti b\u0159icha, co\u017e je u zv\u00fd\u0161en\u00e9 hladiny kortizolu b\u011b\u017en\u00e9.&#13; Dal\u0161\u00ed reakc\u00ed je odbour\u00e1v\u00e1n\u00ed svalov\u00e9 hmoty, kter\u00e1 ustupuje hlavn\u011b proto, aby uvolnila m\u00edsto tuku, je\u017e je ukl\u00e1d\u00e1n pro hor\u0161\u00ed \u010dasy, a zv\u00fd\u0161en\u00ed estrogenu. Tomuto hormonu vd\u011b\u010d\u00edme za tvarov\u00e1n\u00ed \u017eensk\u00fdch tvar\u016f, a to nejen u \u017een. P\u0159\u00edznaky, kter\u00e9 d\u00e1le ukazuj\u00ed na zv\u00fd\u0161en\u00ed hladiny tohoto hormonu je \u0161patn\u00fd sp\u00e1nek, \u00fazkosti, deprese a bolesti sval\u016f a kloub\u016f. Paradoxem tak\u00e9 je, \u017ee ke stresu \u010dasto tak\u00e9 vede nezd\u00e1rn\u00e1 snaha zhubnout.&#13; Druhou stranou mince je velk\u00e1 ztr\u00e1ta hmotnosti p\u0159i stresu, \u010d\u00edm\u017e se dost\u00e1v\u00e1me zp\u011bt k hormonu, kter\u00fd zde byl ji\u017e tolikr\u00e1t zmi\u0148ov\u00e1n.
